Gaze Upon a Darkened Cloud - If You Dare!

From Amazon: Customers find TO GAZE UPON A DARKENED CLOUD deeply thought-provoking and thrilling, with a unique take on climate fiction that weaves together climate science. The story is intense and emotional, with characters that feel deeply human, and the pacing keeps readers engaged throughout. They appreciate how the narrative balances heart-pounding suspense with a sense of dread, making it a gripping and atmospheric read that feels eerily close to reality.

๐Ÿ“– Living in Milan, Italy, I have many Italian friends. They told me I had to read I KILL (Io Uccido) by Giorgio Faletti. As sad as my Italian is, I opted for the excellent English translation. I enjoyed the book and recommend it.

What stood out is the authorโ€™s ability to flesh out characters that live in a single chapter. I really felt drawn into the lives of the victims, like I knew them, and then felt for them when they were killed. That, more than the good serial killer story, made this a great read.

๐Ÿ“บ It reminded me of an excellent Canadian TV police series called Flashpoint. If youโ€™ve never seen it, I highly recommend you check it out. It follows a Toronto SRU team (like SWAT but prioritizing negotiation). As with I KILL, it excelled in making single-episode characters feel real and making me care about them. The acting is top-notch and the stories engaging. One of the best cop series out there.

Indie Spotlight

A free prelude to a series, this is a tale of space opera and cosmic adventure. The Ambassador of a mysterious and ancient family must forge a path through chaos to overcome the terrible enemies that desire humanityโ€™s destruction.

Have you grabbed a free copy of KILLING TIME?

A murder investigation takes strange turns in this short as the suspect spins an unbelievable story. And that tale impacts detective Murphey in ways he will never be able to explain.
